I Found a Great Illustrator

I am moving ahead with the second phase of my new book, The Boy Who Wanted to Fly.  To find an illustrator, I used an art agency that represents different artists. After reviewing the portfolios of multiple artists at Advocate Art, I came across Max Rambaldi, a talented and versatile illustrator who is excited to bring my manuscript to life.

I requested test sketches of my main character from two artists and liked what I received from Max.  She captured the spirit of the young boy in my story just the way I visualized him in my mind.   As soon as I saw her sketch, I knew she was the illustrator for me!  Fortunately, she could work within my publishing timeline, so we agreed to work together and signed a contract.   Coincidentally, my main character is also named Max!

I’ll share some more sketches when I receive them.  Stay tuned!

  1. Ummm, just soaking all this in….the relationship with the illustrator, seeing your character come to life, seeing the words on the page. A beautiful moment.

  2. I can’t wait to read this book, just from the sketch! My nephew is in a wheelchair…

  4. I appreciate your kind words, Laura! I’m so happy we met through Miriam’s program. Supporting one another is key through this process. I’m looking forward to learning more about Rainy and the ripples of kindness!
