Now that my book has been launched into the world, it’s time to see where it leads! I love reading aloud to children and have volunteered in the past to do just that. Now I can enjoy this experience by sharing my published book with kids in libraries and schools.
I read a quote by Ursula Le Guin that made me consider the storyteller’s art differently. Le Guin says, “The unread story is not a story; it is little black marks on wood pulp. The reader, reading it, makes it live: a living thing, a story.” This is precisely what I want to accomplish when I read my book aloud. I want to breathe life into Charlie and Sophie, two curious little puppies, to make them come alive in the minds of those who hear their story.
Writing is an art, and so is storytelling. I am a novice, but I’ve already learned much on this author’s journey. Keep me company!
